Narrative for MetroWest Medical Center - Leonard Morse Campus

MetroWest Medical Center is proud of its very active multidisciplinary approach to quality improvement. In encouraging a culture of patient safety and transparency, all results of quality improvement efforts are shared with staff, physicians, and other stakeholders.

As previously reported regarding patient falls, a renewed process, a new protocol, and new safety devices were implemented in the spring of 2007. The changes were successful in reducing falls with injury.
Pressure ulcer prevention is also very important in providing quality patient care. In reviewing the recent data for MetroWest Medical Center approximately half of the clinical areas reported prevalence less than the state average for similar sized hospitals. MetroWest is committed to eliminating nosocomial pressure ulcers and is implementing additional prevention processes.
