Staffing based on patient acuity - offer hours on-call or |
hours reduced (time off not on call for time scheduled) Staff |
can use benefit time to cover this time (holiday or vacation) |
Often used when same day surgery unit needs to close to |
further recover and then discharge patients. This decreas- |
es the amount of overtime on the same day surgery unit. |
Night shift will not have less than three RN/LPN staff as one |
is the recorder for any code and must be able to leave the |
unit. One certified nursing assistant is responsible for |
compressions at any code 24 hours per day from this unit. |
Pharmacist available to all units. |
LPN coverage - Days-ten shifts per week; Evenings-eight |
shifts per week; Nights-eight shifts per week |
