Other Reasons for +/- 5% Variance
From May 2007 to October 2007, 12 beds of this unit were relocated to a different floor. During that time, additional staffing was required to assure patient safety while the unit was split. For one half of this time, this resulted in the loss of one telemetry bed.

Additional Comments
In addition, for approximately 7 months of the year, there was an unassigned charge nurse on most day shifts to assist with unit operations and bed control, during a temporary management vacancy. This charge RN is not included in the RN worked hours number above. Electronic medical record implementation in the first months of FY 2007 resulted in increased staffing to support go live.
