Other Reasons for +/- 5% Variance
In May 2007 decision was made to expand the unit immediately to meet increased referral demands. To accomplish this, new positions were added and staffing was supplemented by all available means. The ventilated patient census fluctuated above budget and staff was augmented to account for increased acuity.
