Additional Unit Information:
W-2 is an Adult Medical Surgical Unit with 12 adult beds. The unit also has 5 Pediatric beds on located one end of the unit . When there are Pediatric patients one RN provides care to up to four children. When the RN is caring for the Pediatric patients the nurse does not have Adults assigned to them for care. The staffing model is adjusted on a daily, shift to shift basis in accordance with the presenting Adult and Pediatric patient population that presents. On nights when there are Pediatric Patients a third RN is scheduled to work so that two RNS care for the Adult population and I RN cares for the pediatric patients.
