Additional Unit Information:
Reisman 11 is a 40-bed general medicine unit focusing on a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions including respiratory, gastrointestinal and renal diseases as well as the care of the high risk elder patient and the patient with acute and chronic pain disorders. Nurse management has 24 hour responsibility for the unit. Other supportive staff available for unit as needed include: Interpreter Services, Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and Certified Wound Care Nurses There are 11.65 FTEs of centralized Med-Surg float nurses which are deployed as needed to support patient acuity. There are 23 FTEs of centrally based patient care staff who are available to observe and protect patients at elevated safety risk (i.e. at risk for pulling out lines/tubes or at risk for harming themselves or others).
