Additional Unit Information:
Jenks 5 West ( Baxter-Poppen Unit) is a 29 bed mecical surgical orthopedic unit whose primary patient population includes complex spine surgery and complex pain management. Additionally, other patients may includetotal joint replacement, general orthopedics and general medical surgical. Focused postoperative care includes pain management, rehabilitation, medication teaching, wound care, and discharge planning utilizing community resources as needed Budgeted census is an average Daily Staffing varies to meet anticipated census fluctuation. Daily census generally predictable because most are elective surgeries Staffing reviewed and adjusted for volume and acuity each shift RN Clinical Level and experience considered in scheduling and daily assignments
 
 
Other Team Members:
Nurse Manager has 24 hour accountability Clinical Leader supports Nurse Manager. Although this position may provide some direct care, it is not included in WHPPD RN Bed Facilitator available to manage throughput for the inpatient units Mon-Fri. Centralized Pharmacy Residents for all orthopedics Physical Therapist provide two visits per day for orthopedic patients AT&T Line available 24 hours for interpreting. There is also a contract for personal interpreters when needed.
