Additional Unit Information:
Deaconess 4 is a 25 bed secure inpatient unit for care and treatment of patients with acute psychiatric illnesses. Nurse management has 24 hour responsibility for the unit. Dedicated security support is available to the unit 24/7. Other supportive staff available for unit as needed include: Interpreter Services, Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and Certified Wound Care Nurses There are 11.65 FTEs of centralized Med-Surg float nurses which are deployed as needed to support patient acuity. There are 23 FTEs of centrally based patient care staff who are available to observe and protect patients at elevated safety risk (i.e. at risk for pulling out lines/tubes or at risk for harming themselves or others).
