Please note: there was a data-entry correction made by the hospital to the above staffing plan which was not processed properly here. There was never a NA on the night shift. Adjusting the hours for this error makes the planned HPPD 9.96 not 11.20 as seen above. The actual HPPD are 10.43 and, therefore, rather than understaffing the unit by 6.9% as reported above (10.96 actual vs 11.20 planned), the VARIANCE SHOULD BE that the unit was overstaffed by 5% (10.96 actual vs 9.96 planned).
