Additional Unit Information:
The VICU is an 8 bed vascular surgical step down unit specializing in the care of patients who have had interventional procedures and major vascular surgeries. Hemodynamic and cardiac centralized monitoring are available.
 
 
Other Team Members:
Nurse management has 24 hour responsibility for the unit. Other supportive staff available for unit as needed include: Interpreter Services, Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and Certified Wound and Ostomy Nurses. There are 7.45 FTEs of centralized ICU float nurses and 6.4 FTEs of centralized Nursing Assistants which are deployed as needed to support patient acuity. There are 21.4 FTEs of centrally based patient care staff who are available to observe and protect patients at elevated safety risk (i.e. at risk for pulling out lines/tubes or at risk for harming themselves or others).
