| Nurse manager has 24 hour responsibility for ICU. Unit clerk can do clinical and clerical functions. Minimally staffed area - budgeted staffing based on average acuity/work assignment. Shifts in acuity and workload influence staffing. RN works 12 hour shifts. IV therapy 12 hours per day. Clinical leader with 6-12 hours administrative time per week. Nursing education provided by centralized department, and is not unit-based. Increased staffing required for precepting, orienting and competency education. Interpreters are available all shifts. Off-Shift Managers (Supervisor) available Mon-Fri Eves and Nights and all weekend . |
