The Pediatric unit has had an increase in the number of patients admitted requiring 1:1 supervision to assure a safe environment. We have also seen an increase in newborn admissions that require a higher staffing ratio. Spaulding uses the QuadraMed nursing acuity tool to assist in adjusting staffing to meet patient needs.
