| Along with medical surgical rehabilitation frequently requiring telemetry monitoring the unit addresses the acute rehabiltation of spinal cord injury. The average admission Functional Index Measure (FIM) is 46.2 demonstrating the dependancy of this population. In addition the unit experienced growth in average daily census with high turnover of individual patients. The fluctuation of increase number of admissions and discharges drives the care hour as teaching needs increase with every patient transfer. |
