Stanton 6 is a 20 bed unit of which 14 beds are Step Down (patients with a higher acuity) and 6 are telemetry. The patient care needs are evaluated regularly and the staffing is adjusted accordingly. At any given time, the mix of patients can vary thus warranting the change in staffing. This can result in the care hours being higher or lower than the plan.
