SHC utilizes the Quadramed system to adjust staffing requirements based on nursing workload. 3 SOUTH experienced a continued increase in acute ventilator and VAD patients requiring a higher RN ratio. Additionally and RN must accompany a VAD patient to their bi monthly clinic appointments to assure patient safety and collaboration of patient needs. 3 South also had a increase in the number of patients requiring 1:1 observation to prevent the removal of medical devices.
