The inpatient Pedi unit has several missions: inpatient and observation pediatric care, pre and post surgery preparation and care of pediatric patients, outpatient testing pediatric care. Volume can fluctuate greatly from day to day, sometime no patients for several days in a row and other times with all beds filled/utilized. We always provide core staffing and staff remain in-house, even with no volume, in case of an emergency pediatric admission or surgery
