Additional Comments
NEBH's staffing plan is built to match our elective surgical schedule with peak census days Tuesday through Friday and routine closure of 1 - 2 nursing unit on the weekends. This census fluctuation, combined with reduced census resulting from length of stay (LOS) improvements and increases in staff hours to facilitate admissions and discharges, resulted in increased Hours of Care Per Patient Day (HPPD).
