Other Reasons for +/- 5% Variance
The Behavioral Health Director carefully adjusts for lower census by decreasing staffing. Hours are budgeted for the unit-based educator because the institution does not have a centralized education department. Unable to carve out orientation hours, preceptor hours, council work, transporting of patients, response to emergency calls, class time (e.g. Dr. Armstrong training). QA & other performance improvement initiatives are performed by staff during their clinical work hours.
