Additional Unit Information: |
Martha's Vineyard Hospital is a critical access hospital, the ICU has a variable census, when the department is closed the nursing staff are placed on call or floated to another department as needed. The staffing pattern is based on a 1-2 patient to RN ratio.
There are many variables to consider in establishing safe, efficiently staffed units. Patient care units differ based on the types of patients cared for on a given unit and the way in which care is organized and delivered. The educational level and experience of staff members along with support from managers also factor into unit staffing decisions as does the unique characteristics and missions of each hospital. |
|
|
Other Team Members: |
There is a provider on the inpatient units during the day and part of the evening shift. The Emergency Department has a physician on duty 24/7 and responds to any emergencies when the hospitalist is not present. |

to heart attack care, heart failure care, pneumonia care and surgical care) in the Performance Measures section of PatientCareLink.
