Nurse manager has 24 hour responsibility for SDU and ICU.
Unit clerical staff can do clerical and clinical.
Minimally staffed unit - staffing based on acuity and
workload. Shifts in acuity and workload influence staffing.
RN works 12 hour shifts
IV therapy 12 hours per day
Clinical leader with 6-12 hours administrative time per week
Nursing education provided by centralized department, and
is not unit-based. Precepting, orientation and competency
best practice education require increased staffing.
Rapid response team in development
Clinical pharmacist available for consultation 24 hours per
day.
Spiritual services on call 24 hours per day.
